The running ‘go-box’
If you’re anything like me, I end up with my running gear scattered throughout my house, beckoning a moment of frustration as I scramble to find the one item I need right before heading out the door. I like to think even in my disorganization, I still know where I put my belongings. “I know it doesn’t belong there, but I at least know where I left it” can only be said so many times before you actually don’t know where you put all your stuff from your last run.
Enter: your running ‘go box.’ All the running odds and ends you tend to need for racing or training, in one convenient place ready to go immediately.
I once heard a member of the military reference his “go bag” in order to be ready for the call to action at a moment's notice. Then it hit me - why don’t I have this for running?! Shortly after, I was crewing for a friend at an ultra marathon where I saw a beautifully stacked tool organizer on wheels. As I peaked over at the setup, I saw an array of running essentials in the place of screws, wrenches, and nails. I’ve never been so stoked to see medicine, KT tape, GUs, and other running must-haves so perfectly organized. Not only is that beneficial for the day-to-day of running, but likely a dream come true for crews during fast paced pit stops. I finally bit the bullet, and I can confidently say it was worth the investment. Who would've thought that organizing your stuff could be so satisfying?! (Don’t tell my wife I’m admitting that).
